The companies’ needs to adopt changes in their way of production to maximize the environmental performance required by their stakeholders, and at the same time, to maximize their economic and market performance, have made them seek for environmental strategies and certifications. In this sense, the Cleaner Production and the Environmental Management System based on ISO 14001 have been, respectively, presented, since the main objective of this research is to identify and analyze Cleaner Production contributions to comply with ISO 14001 requirements. For such, a survey research has been carried out in Brazilian industrial companies certified by ISO 14001. We have identified the main performance factors by leading practices and variables of Cleaner Production that contribute to the compliance with the standard requirements by companies. Thus, it has been noted that Cleaner Production is an important strategy for the preparation of companies for certification as well as for improving their environmental performance.  相似文献

Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) have emerged as potential alternatives to classical metal-based semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) due to the abundance of their precursors, their ease of synthesis, high biocompatibility, low cost, and particularly their strong photoresponsiveness, tunability, and stability. Light is a versatile, tunable stimulus that can provide spatiotemporal control. Its interaction with CQDs elicits interesting responses such as wavelength-dependent optical emissions, charge/electron transfer, and heat generation, processes that are suitable for a range of photomediated bioapplications. The carbogenic core and surface characteristics of CQDs can be tuned through versatile engineering strategies to endow specific optical and physicochemical properties, while conjugation with specific moieties can enable the design of targeted probes. Fundamental approaches to tune the responses of CQDs to photo-interactions and the design of bionanoprobes are presented, which enable biomedical applications involving diagnostics and therapeutics. These strategies represent comprehensive platforms for engineering multifunctional probes for nanomedicine, and the design of QD probes with a range of metal-free and emerging 2D materials.

A new method for the analysis of both total and bound SO(2) in wine is proposed, based on a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM), and it is compared with the widely used Ripper method. The proposed method is faster than the Ripper's, and the instrumentation is either home-made or widely available. When both methods are applied to the same sample, the results obtained using the QCM method are bracketed in an interval less than one-tenth the size of that obtained using the Ripper method. Although the SO(2) concentrations found using the QCM method correlate well with the ones obtained with the Ripper method, the results are systematically higher, which can be explained as due to the absence of interferences known to affect the Ripper method.  相似文献

Given a set of products each with positive discrete demand, and a set of markets selling products at given prices, the traveling purchaser problem (TPP) looks for a tour visiting a subset of markets such that products demand is satisfied at minimum purchasing and traveling costs. In this paper we analyze a dynamic variant of the problem, where quantities may decrease as time goes on. Complete information is assumed on current state of the world, i.e. decision maker knows quantities available for each product in each market at present time and is informed about any consumption event when it occurs. Nevertheless, planner does not have any information on future events. Two groups of heuristics are described and compared. The first group consists of simplified approaches deciding which market to visit next on the basis of some greedy criteria considering only one of the two objective costs. The second one includes heuristics based on a look-ahead approach taking into account both traveling and purchasing costs and inserting some future prediction. Heuristics behavior has been tested on a large set of randomly generated instances under different levels of dynamism.  相似文献

Facilitating meetings is not an easy task. To assist the facilitator, we have been designing intelligent support systems, which can help contextual sensemaking, decision making and action. However, these systems are constructed based on behavioral models that provide guidelines to understand participant behaviors. This paper presents an ontology to describe participants’ behaviors in collaborative design meetings and rules that correlate them with the group’s acceptance of the final product. This ontology describes the group dynamics at collocated meetings, using verbal and non-verbal cues of attention shifts and attention maintenance as its basic constructs. The objective of creating this ontology was to better understand face-to-face meetings to eventually help meeting facilitators identify issues that may lead to dissatisfaction with the final product through behavioral cues. The ontology was derived through extensive analysis of a series of engineering design session videos. The design group was composed of experts with similar backgrounds, but working in different divisions of the same company. Different points of view were argued and decisions were made at the end of each meeting. After each meeting, participants were asked to asynchronously commit to the decisions made in the group. Our ontology can be used to identify the factors that lead to an undesired outcome, and now serves as a basis for a new project, which uses rules to support design meetings, improve final artifact acceptance and reduce rework. Our conclusions point out correlations between designers’ behaviors and future artifact acceptance and actions that interrupt or bring back group attention. The ontology was validated through application to other meeting situations. These findings may guide software developers in the creation of tools to support group design, and may be applied by an intelligent system.  相似文献

This paper presents an original software implementation of the elitist non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) applied and adapted to the multi-objective optimization of a polysiloxane synthesis process. An optimized feed-forward neural network, modeling the variation in time of the main parameters of the process, was used to calculate the vectorial objective function of NSGA-II, as an enhancement to the multi-objective optimization procedure. An original technique was utilized in order to find the most appropriate parameters for maximizing the performance of NSGA-II. The algorithm provided the optimum reaction conditions (reaction temperature, reaction time, amount of catalyst, and amount of co-catalyst), which maximize the reaction conversion and minimize the difference between the obtained viscometric molecular weight and the desired molecular weight. The algorithm has proven to be able to find the entire non-dominated Pareto front and to quickly evolve optimal solutions as an acceptable compromise between objectives competing with each other. The use of the neural network makes it also suitable to the multi-objective optimization of processes for which the amount of knowledge is limited.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the (positive) graph relational calculus. The basis for this calculus was introduced by Curtis and Lowe in 1996 and some variants, motivated by their applications to semantics of programs and foundations of mathematics, appear scattered in the literature. No proper treatment of these ideas as a logical system seems to have been presented. Here, we give a formal presentation of the system, with precise formulation of syntax, semantics, and derivation rules. We show that the set of rules is sound and complete for the valid inclusions, and prove a finite model result as well as decidability. We also prove that the graph relational language has the same expressive power as a first-order positive fragment (both languages define the same binary relations), so our calculus may be regarded as a notational variant of the positive existential first-order logic of binary relations. The graph calculus, however, has a playful aspect, with rules easy to grasp and use. This opens a wide range of applications which we illustrate by applying our calculus to the positive relational calculus (whose set of valid inclusions is not finitely axiomatizable), obtaining an algorithm for deciding the valid inclusions and equalities of the latter.  相似文献

In 1950 Markowitz first formalized the portfolio optimization problem in terms of mean return and variance. Since then, the mean-variance model has played a crucial role in single-period portfolio optimization theory and practice. In this paper we study the optimal portfolio selection problem in a multi-period framework, by considering fixed and proportional transaction costs and evaluating how much they affect a re-investment strategy. Specifically, we modify the single-period portfolio optimization model, based on the Conditional Value at Risk (CVaR) as measure of risk, to introduce portfolio rebalancing. The aim is to provide investors and financial institutions with an effective tool to better exploit new information made available by the market. We then suggest a procedure to use the proposed optimization model in a multi-period framework. Extensive computational results based on different historical data sets from German Stock Exchange Market (XETRA) are presented.  相似文献

Deduplication is the task of identifying the entities in a data set which refer to the same real world object. Over the last decades, this problem has been largely investigated and many techniques have been proposed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the deduplication algorithms. As data sets become larger, such algorithms may generate critical bottlenecks regarding memory usage and execution time. In this context, cloud computing environments have been used for scaling out data quality algorithms. In this paper, we investigate the efficacy of different machine learning techniques for scaling out virtual clusters for the execution of deduplication algorithms under predefined time restrictions. We also propose specific heuristics (Best Performing Allocation, Probabilistic Best Performing Allocation, Tunable Allocation, Adaptive Allocation and Sliced Training Data) which, together with the machine learning techniques, are able to tune the virtual cluster estimations as demands fluctuate over time. The experiments we have carried out using multiple scale data sets have provided many insights regarding the adequacy of the considered machine learning algorithms and proposed heuristics for tackling cloud computing provisioning.  相似文献
